I’m sorry for your loss and I’m sure your son was a wonderful young man, however it’s very wrong of you to make the statement that Danielle’s mother 'chose’ hate. I agree with others who’ve pointed out that your son chose to put his own life and those of others at risk while Danielle didn’t get a choice. You don’t carry the same burden of anger that her mother does so please bear that in mind when comparing your reactions.

It’s also unfair to claim she wanted her daughter to mean as much to you as your son. She simply wanted you to acknowledge her loss, something it seems you had not done at all until she instigated the meeting. I’ve never experienced a terrible loss like this but it’s inconceivable to me that you didn’t offer an apology on your son’s behalf in the aftermath of this tragedy.
