Since when did Schitt’s Creek claim to be a shining example of how fair the world can be? It presented a world without homophobia but you seem to believe it should solve all the problems of the world and be an exemplary model of fairness and equality in all aspects. According to your standards the show would never have been created because Dan wouldn’t have drawn on his father’s industry connections or production company, they wouldn’t have been able to co-create or employ Catherine O’Hara because nepotism, and the majority of main actors would be from minorities. This highlights just how pointless it is to argue that a show which has created so much goodwill and tolerance is somehow hypocritical for not meeting your impossible standards,(which would have resulted in the show never actually being made in the first place).
