The great gaslighting isn’t on it’s way, it’s already here. It’s in all the lying comments about how it will be safe for people to return to work sooner rather than later, and claims the virus is under control. Scenes of coffins being shovelled into trenches in New York contradict this rosy view.

Trump still believes he’s powerful enough to sweep the pandemic from public attention with an expensive advertising campaign. Unfortunately for him, the corpses will continue to pile up, and no disinfectant is strong enough to wash the stench from that filthy hand.

It’s lovely that animals are coming back into cities and it does show that there is another way of living that’s kinder and gentler. Sadly thousands of people won’t get the chance to experience this new world if the president gets his way and America is pronounced ‘open for business’ before the pandemic has been properly contained.
